Ajania pacifica is a mound-forming, rhizomatous perennial. It forms a mound to up to .6m in height. The rhizomes multiply and the mound can spread to over a metre wide. It makes very attractive ground cover with dusky green, silver margined foliage. In autumn, yellow button-like flowers appear providing a lovely contrast to the foliage.
