Apple ‘Egremont Russet’ A mid-season eating apple producing a heavy crop of distinctive dull russet fruits, with firm, crisp flesh and a rich, nutty flavour. Apple ‘Egremont Russet’ is self fertile and easy to grow, It is also an excellent pollinator for ‘Cox’ and ‘Braeburn’ varieties. Harvest the apples in autumn, and they keep well for about 3 months. When grafted on to M9 root stock 1.8m – 2.4m the tops are easily reached for pruning.
